THE EXTINCTION SERIES
SPRING 2025
Art and activism in action; questioning the idea of traditional performance spaces. The series is a collection of miniatures, each movement a musical obituary to an extinct animal, and a statement by the creator, who will never complete the series in her lifetime. Collections from this series are being presented in 45-minute segments, free of charge in open air spaces where man intersects nature to raise awareness of the irreversible ramifications of climate change. Eight performances will take place in three of New York’s boroughs: Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, performed by soloist, Adam von Housen (violin) and Alice Jones (flute).
