Laurence Cummings is an Australian pianist who began studies in music at an early age under the guidance of his father. He studied with Roger Heagney in Melbourne, before relocating to New York to join Jeffrey Biegel's studio as a scholarship student at the Conservatory of Music of Brooklyn College (CUNY). Cummings has performed solo recitals in New York and Melbourne, as well as numerous chamber projects. He has been a member of the conTEMPO new music ensemble at Brooklyn College under the direction of Ursula Oppens, with whom he performed the Bartók Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion. Cummings has also joined The Curiosity Cabinet chamber ensemble in New York for their upcoming season.
